Miami Fly Fishing/Bonefish Guide: Capt. Dave Hunt
BORN AND RAISED IN MIAMI, Florida, Miami Fly Fishing Guide, Dave Hunt has spent his life in pursuit of the myriad of gamefish in S. Fla. waters. His obsession with fishing progressed from fishing local Miami canals with his father's bamboo fly rod as a child, to pursuing game fish worldwide.
Much of his youth was spent fishing in Flamingo, Biscayne Bay and the Fla. Keys and, since buying his first flats boat 20 years ago, much of his time has, again, been spent in Biscayne Bay, and bonefish on fly is his addiction. He has caught well over 300 bonefish on fly and is also an avid fly tier who is equally obsessive about terminal tackle. He is past president of the South Florida Fly Fishing Club and was on the founding Board of Directors of the Fla. Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers. Through hard work and recommendations from others well-respected in the fly fishing community, he has become an Orvis endorsed fly fishing guide who adheres to all of their strict standards.
He's also an avid coldwater fisherman—enjoying trout, salmon and steelhead and enjoys fishing in Alaska, the lower 48 (Yellowstone is a favorite) and Argentina. He's also managed to find time to catch a # of sailfish on fly in Guatemala.
He is a USCG Licensed Capt to 25 tons, commercially insured and ready to take you fly fishing in Miami!
